Frank
Dennis was employed in 1964 by the Christchurch City Council
before leaving New Zealand to take up a position with Victoria
State Electricity Commission. At the end of 1964 he joined
Maunsell and Partners, Perth, Western Australia, as assistant
resident engineer on railway construction. He went to the
United Kingdom in 1967 and was engaged by Brian Colquhoun
and Partners, London, working both as a structural engineer
and highway engineer.

Mr
Dennis returned to New Zealand in 1971 to join the forerunner
of the present Practice as a senior civil engineer. Projects
with which he has been associated include the design of
commercial, industrial and civil engineering structures,
temporary works, construction methods and procedures for
major civil engineering projects, concept studies and design
for irrigation and hydro-electric developments, the design
and construction of submarine effluent outfalls, marine
pipelines, wharf and other harbour structures, and ocean
ranching salmon farms including fish ladders. His ability
to gain swift appreciation of problems, and generate practical
and economical solutions is a quality sought after by clients
and contractors.
